Mmmmm, Nummm, Nummmm....

That is what I hear now when my sweet little Chantz is hungry. I keep telling him that he is too little to make such noises, but he doesn't listen. (Shocker, since none of my other children do why would he be the exception?!) We gave Chantz his first rice cereal at the beginning of November. He LOVES it! Now when he sees food coming his way he flaps his little arms and legs like a mad man and starts with the "mmmmmm, nummmm, nummmm, mmmmm."



Oh the joy of food!


After his mush he, of course, wants a drink. The little twerp won't take a bottle with milk or formula in it, but WATER is FAB!


On November 11th our sweet little Kamryn turned 4. I can't believe how much she's growing up and how old she acts. She is so sweet to Nila and Chantz and does her best to help me out. She wanted to go to Chuckee Cheese to play "the duck game." I had no idea what this was, but lo and behold when we got there she ran over to it and said, "See! I tooold ja!" Apparantly she knows what she's talking about. Being right smack dab in the middle of flu season, it took every ounce of self control not to bring a container of Clorox wipes with me and sanitize the place down, but I did refrain. Kami ended up with a cold about a week later. :S Coincidence? I think not.

Chantz has been rolling over since October, but we realized that he was REALLY mobile the day that we couldn't see him and saw the Christmas tree shaking. Lights are SOOOOO pretty! My sweet little baby is now mobile and in to EVERYTHING!

Nila lost 3 teeth in the week before Thanksgiving. She didn't swallow a one of em' (which was shocking to me) and worked very hard at getting them out. "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" definitely applies! Amazingly enough she is still able to eat!



We had a HUGE snow storm last week, two of them actually, and Kamryn couldn't WAIT to get out and help her daddy shovel some snow. Kalani was laughing at how many layers I put on her (hey it was COLD!) and snapped this pic right before I stuck a head sock on her.

Right now we're in full Christmas mode. It is crazy and I realized this week I really need to just chill out, simplify and remember what the season is all about. Hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Halloween & Haircuts

Well, we finally decided that Chantz needed a haircut. Poor little guy had about a 3-inch spike on top of his little noggin. Soooo at 4 months old I took him in to get his first haircut...

He looked a little nervous about the scissors....

But he did a good job and looks super cute!

Nila celebrated her 7th birthday on October 23. With all the sickness going around we decided to stay home and celebrate. We got Pizza Factory pizza (which she loves) and decided that birthday cupcakes instead of cake would be less messy.

Nila dressed up as a cheerleader for her Halloween party at school (and absolutely refused to look at me & smile - too busy watching for the bus!)

Kamryn dressed up as Princess Aurora and Nila dressed up as Alice in Wonderland to go trick-or-treating.


AND since Kami's favorite movie, at the moment, is the Nightmare Before Christmas...
Mommy & Daddy got suckered into being Sally & Jack.

We had a very fun filled October & are now preparing for Thanksgiving! YIKES.

Oh! How they're growing!!

I was just browsing my blog and realized how long its been since I've done a post. I also was looking at the pictures and was alarmed at the rate my sweet little punkins are growing!

On September 27th Chantz was blessed. This is kind of a funny picture because we're all looking at different cameras.

On September 30th we went to Zion's National Park. Kalani had to do some work on a hotel there so we tagged along. This is the view from the patio on our hotel room.



One night we got ice cream and watched the sun set. Kamryn decided that her favorite flavor was pink because that is also her favorite color. Don't ask me what goes on in her little mind. :)


Chantz travelled pretty well for a 3 month old and had a great time hanging out.


Nila was happy to go "bu-bye" had fun. She just looks at us like we're crazy half of the time!



Kamryn was absolutely FACINATED by the fact that the hotel had a Halloween tree. We HAD to get a picture of the kids by it, according to her. LOVE that none of the kids would look at the camera! (Typical kids I suppose!)


There was a small wildlife museum at our hotel as well. The girls didn't know what to think of all those animals. Kamryn was VERY interested in the "red fish" and the snake however.





Life has been keeping us busy, but we love the fun we've been having together as a family. This last week we started putting up our Halloween decor. Chantz and Nila don't know what to think of it or really care, but Kami is beyond thrilled. I often wonder if she loves Halloween even more than Christmas! Crazy little girl. Nila is back in school and loving it. She squeals every time the bus pulls up in the morning. Such a happy little girl! Chantz is growing like crazy! It makes me sad in some ways to see him get bigger but the new stages he's getting to are so much fun too. Last night he was so close to rolling over I couldn't believe it. Kalani and I are just trying to keep up with life and kids. Hopefully we'll be able to keep our heads above water and have fun doing it!

Update from Planet Galbraith...

Life. Life is good. Life is crazy! Life is flying by me!!! Nila has been out of summer school for a week now so life is even more hectic around here with three little people constantly demanding something from me. I shall survive... maybe. Over the 24th of July weekend Kalani and I ripped up our kitchen floor and he started installing tile. Its been a process for him and he's exhausted, but it will be beautiful when its done. Gma Nae also came out to visit for the weekend and the kids were thrilled about that. I was soooo happy to get out of the house for a little while. Grandma, Chantz and I all loaded up and went shopping at the mall. (I have figured out a wonderful use for dressing rooms... MOOOOO!) Add to that the fireworks that we got to watch from our front lawn and the weekend was a busy but fun one. Nila squealed at the top of her lungs every time a loud one went off, while Kamryn ran for the house to watch them from the front window with Chantz and I. Chantz watched his first fireworks show with a big gummy grin on his little face. That kid is growing up so fast! Here are a few pictures we've taken over the past few weeks...

At 4 weeks old Chantz decided that this is the best position to take a nap in. I love the fact that he'll take a 3 hour nap, but don't love that I feel like I have to check him every 5 minutes so he doesn't suffocate... little twerp!

"Momma, I got him!"

"Momma, I got him!"... These are the words I heard this morning after asking Kamryn to go and see if the baby was still asleep up in my room. Kalani and I have tried to keep her very involved in her brother's life so we don't have any jealousy issues. Apparently Kami is VERY comfortable with her 2 week old brother! I was checking my email when she yelled the previously mentioned phrase. I thought, "She's got him?", seconds before Kamryn appeared in the computer room doorway carrying Chantz. Thank goodness I'd bundled him up tightly for his nap! His little head could barely move as I had the blanket behind it. Kamryn looked so proud of herself. She had him held against her little body very tightly. She thought she was doing a wonderful thing bringing him down to show me that, indeed, he is still asleep. How she managed to get him out of his bassinet and pack him down the stairs without waking him up or dropping him is beyond me! Thank goodness she did though. I have a feeling that this is story #1 of many to come.

Our First Week Home

So we've made it a little over a week and are actually surviving. Yes, it is noon and I'm still in my pj's, but so what, it could be worse... and these dark rings around my eyes?.. eh, they'll fade in time. Kamryn and Nila are adjusting very well to having a baby in the house. They both actually adore him, which I was worried about. Neither one of them has shown even a hint of jealousy. Stephanie, Makayla and Rendan came out and spent three days with us this week, so that definitely helped keep Kamryn entertained (not to mention gave me an adult to talk to since Kalani went back to work this week.) Here are a few pics we've taken since Chantz has come home.

Ok - so obviously this picture is before Chantz came home, but I've had people asking how big I got. Here is the ugly proof that I was huge!


We got Chantz all dressed up in his little dinosaur outfit, complete with claw booties, without any fits at all. Kalani started to put him into his car seat and the rage that came out of that little man was amazing!! Soooo... all of our pictures of him getting ready to leave the hospital show our gorgeous little boy as a blotchy, grumpy mess. Oh well!! At least he enjoyed the car ride home! (He zonked the second we started moving!)

Quick Baby Update...

So many of my friends and family have been contacting me to see how my pregnancy is going that I thought I'd do a quick update on here to let ya'll know where I'm at...

Yesterday I went to my weekly doctor appointment. I was checked and was dilated to a 4 so they sent me over to the hospital to be monitored for an hour. At the end of the hour it was concluded that a) I am having contractions, but not regular ones.. they were 4-8 minutes apart at that time, and b) I am still dilated to a 4. I'm home now and just am waiting for contractions to become regular. Who knows when this will be. Through the night they got VERY far apart and sometimes they've been quite close together.

The good news is that the end is in sight and pretty soon I'll be a crazy mom with 3 little munchkins around instead of 2. I WILL do an update as soon as I have any new news. Thanks for checkin' up on me everyone!

P.S. I've had people calling and panicking because I'm not answering the phone... I'M fine! I still do normal human things like shower, nap, and sometimes just ignore the phone because I'm doing something with my kids and they need my attention too. :)

The Craziness That Is, For Now, My Life

Crazy, Boring, Frustrating, Scary..... These are all words that I feel like I could apply to my life right now just depending on what day of the week it is or what time of day! We've had a few interesting weeks....

About three weeks ago Kalani came home from the grocery store & basically collapsed on our living room floor in pain. He dealt with it for a couple hours and then finally admitted that he needed to see a doctor. I loaded up the girls and off to the emergency room we went. Six hours later he is released with the diagnosis of a pretty large kidney stone, pain free because of the shots he's received at the hospital and with a few prescriptions for some loverly pain killers. Super fun stuff!!!

One week later... I start having some cramping and lower back pain. I load up my Kami-Lami-Ding-Dong and head to the hospital. Kalani meets us there & the testing begins. Good news... I AM having some contractions, but they're not regular AND they're being caused by a UTI or bladder infection. Super great dandy. Gimme some antibiotics and I'm on my way home. Ta da!

EXACTLY a week after that... Wake up at 2am with MAJOR back pain. Try to tough it out & can't. Wake up dear hubby and tell him that he HAS to get me to the hospital ASAP! Call a neighbor to sit with the kiddos (who thankfully slept through the whole thing) and off we go for the second time in a week to Labor & Delivery. By the time we get there I am insane with pain and am pretty much begging for death. Two morphine shots, an ultrasound, and a few tests later I am told that I have a kidney stone. LOVELY!!! As IF the prospect of giving birth in a few weeks isn't bad enough! (By the way girls - they are almost as bad as labor! AND the pain is CONSTANT! It doesn't go away at all!) I am also told that sweet baby is positioned in a way that is putting stress on my right kidney and it is very dilated to the point that I will be in "severe to excruciating" pain at times, but it shouldn't be constant like the pain from the kidney stone. Woo hoo! My only options to fix the kidney problem are A) Deliver the baby (not a horrible option, but we'd really like lil' guy to grow for a few more weeks since I'm 34 weeks now), B) Insert a stent (owwwie!!! BUT, thankfully, they didn't want to do this because baby won't be in that much longer), or C) Send me home with pain killers and keep me down to try to let baby grow as long as possible. Option C is the one we went with...

SO... Now I am at home, trying to stay down as much as is humanly possible. I have a bad attitude because anyone that knows me knows that I don't like to sit still and REALLY hate having to depend on other people. A person can only watch so much tv, read so many books, and surf the internet for so long before they feel like they are going completely insane. That being said I DO appreciate all the love that has been coming my way. I have wonderful friends and family that have been helping with my children, my house, and my meals. I am truly grateful! Sorry for the gripe fest .... just have had some emails wondering what's up with me lately, so this seemed the easiest way to let everyone know! Hopefully my next post will be in the next couple weeks with pics of a new baby that is healthy and a mom that is exhausted, but back to her life!

Our March & April

Ok, so, I realize that I haven't posted for almost two months now. I am hanging my head in shame and vowing to do better in the future! In March nothing significant seemed to happen to warrant a post. In April I was barely home long enough to get anything done!

Here's what we've been up to the past two months:

After an entire winter of bad snowman snow, Kamryn FINALLY was able to build her first snowman at the beginning of March. She was thrilled and was soooooo disappointed when two days later he was nothing but a little snow pile. I wasn't thrilled with the fact that I caught a little neighbor boy stomping the snowman to bits before he was a snow pile. Brat.


We also went out to the basin to visit and attend Great Grandma Stevenson's 88th birthday party. It was so much fun (even in my huge pregnant, waddling state) to be able to see my family and visit!




Since I have to brag about all the funny little things my kids do... Kami decided to "surprise" me and draw an entire fridge full of "princesses" and was sooooo excited to show me!




At the beginning of April we ran to Cal Ranch and Kami saw the baby chicks. All she had to do was bat her little peepers at her father and, waa la, we own chickens. They are all gone now, but she had a fun month playing with them. Nila wouldn't have anything to do with them!


We went out to Roosevelt for Easter, Stephanie's birthday, and just a visit. I won't be able to go out again until the baby is born. Jonathan and Kalani got the idea to make Steph a birthday cake and ran off to the store to get "baking supplies". An hour and a half later two laughing little boys got back from the stores. They'd been all over finding critters to put on Teffi's cake, as she loves animals. I didn't get the picture until the candles had all been plucked off, but you get the idea. It was very funny!


THEN the Easter Bunny came and left some fabulous little piles of goodies for the girls, with Easter egg trail to find the piles of course!


Kamryn HAD to wear her fairy wings all morning and Nila was facinated with the singing, light-up microphone.

We also went to Mesquite twice in April. Kalani had to go help with a job down there for work so the girls and I tagged along. We went the week of Easter and two weeks after. Sadly on the first trip I forgot my camera, so I didn't get any pics of us at the Casa Blanca, or as Kami calls it, "the pink castle". We stayed in a suite at the Falcon Ridge our second trip and it was much more comfortable for me and much less smoke filled! The girls had fun on both trips and none of us wanted to leave the warm weather!






Anyway, that's what we've been up to for the past couple months. I have a feeling that May is going to be spent planting a garden and flowers and getting ready for our baby to make his appearance. I'll keep you posted!
