Halloween (just a little late!)

Halloween was so nice this year! It was in the high 60's outside when Kalani & the girls went trick-or-treating so we didn't even have to cover their darling little costumes with coats. This year Nila got to be two different things. She was a witch for school...
(which was her costume last year and I didn't care if it was damaged at school) and she was a pirate at home. She basically decided that the hat was garbage, the eye patch was crap, and the lace on her shirt was fun to chew on.... oh well... whatta ya do? Kamryn was a fairy this year. She was more than happy to hold still while we "sparkled" her from head to toe. She had a black eye this year so we tried to camouflage it with purple eye shadow, but I think that I only succeeded in making her look like she had two black eyes. I went to wash it off and she had a small conniption fit, so we decided to keep her happy and leave it as it was. Both of the girls had fun going around the neighborhood to get candy. Kamryn was way into it and made sure that Nila never got left out. Kalani said that when there were too many kids at a door to push Nila's wheelchair up in the midst of them, Kamryn would grab two candies and when the homeowner would say, "no no, only one," she would point and yell, "it fo Nila!" What a good little sister.
They trick-or-treated until Kami refused to walk anymore and then came back to the house to eat and gorge themselves on candy. For the rest of the night whenever the doorbell rang Kamryn ran as fast as possible to answer it while yelling "TRICK OR TREAT!"

Nila Birthday Post #2

On Nila's birthday Kamryn and I took treats to Nila's class. They were having a party for her and, apparantly, she wasn't happy that Kami and I crashed it!
After Kalani got off work we took the girls to dinner and then bowling.
Nila was MUCH happier the rest of the evening.
By the time we got home and opened presents there was no way I was going to hop my kids up on sugar before bed! Sooo... Nila's birthday continued into the next day when we did cake and ice cream.
