The Joys of Being Preggo!

Ok, so, first & foremost, by no means am I planning on my blog becoming all about my pregnancy! However, it is part of my life right now and I have a few gripes! I figure, why not share them with all 5 people that read my blog? Hopefully after I get this off of my chest I can go back to happiness & share some Christmas pics of my darling little girls. So here goes....
Why is it that the second I become pregnant I start to poof up like I'm having a bad allergic reaction to something?! My doctor told me that as I am only 5 feet tall there is just no room for the baby to go but out.... well.... does that explain my chubby cheeks? Seriously! I've been so ill that I've not eaten near my normal calorie intake, and yet I seem to be ballooning out all over the place. So if you see me, YES I'm pregnant and YES I look fat! Let's all pray that after this kid is born I can return to pre pregnancy body pronto! (Hmm... as I wanted to lose a few pounds right before I got pregnant lets pray for pre-Kamryn body.) Also, when I AM able to eat (for Thanksgiving all that looked good was the stuffing - woo hoo) why is it that I am craving the grossest combos? As of two days ago it was pickle & cheese quesadillas dipped in mustard. Gross as it sounds, just typing it in has me salivating. Mmmmmmm! AAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Hit me! Shoot me! Put me out of my misery!!! I have issues. For all of you who "love being pregnant.. I've never felt or looked better", bite me.

Our News!

So... I was planning on posting on Christmas Eve. Then I thought, maybe on Christmas. Well, here it is, two days later and I'm at least starting this post, but no guarantees that it will be finished and posted today! Alrighty, back to my news. As of my doctor's appointment on December 23, I am almost 14 weeks pregnant. If you've wondered why I've semi dropped off of the face of the earth it is because of morning sickness. Wonderful, blissful morning sickness. Let me say that having morning sickness over Thanksgiving and Christmas stinks to say the least. Anyway, thought that I would at least make the announcement. We're nervous, but excited (because of the fact that I am high risk.) I'm due in June, although we'll be thrilled if I can make it past May. By the way - our Christmas was great, the kids were adorable and Santa even made a surprise visit after dinner on Christmas Eve. I will post pictures at a later date and give more updates. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Kamryn's Birthday and More Craziness!

So again, I realize that I've been lacking on my blog posts and pictures. I did want to make sure that I got at least one picture of Kamryn's birthday on here. As previously mentioned, per her request, we braved Chuck E. Cheese. She thought it was fabulous! Nila thought it was great because of the disco lights on the ceiling and would laugh hysterically every time they came on. (Can you say idea for Santa?) We took more video at the party than pictures. This one is the best that I could find, and of course, Kami is making her goofy fake smile face. Oh well - she's still dang cute! Sadly I didn't get any pictures at Thanksgiving! I, apparently was too busy chatting with everyone and stuffing my face to think of getting out the camera. Oh well, whatta ya do? We did have a great time and would like to thank Roger & Ann for all their hard work. It was awesome! As for Christmas, the end is in sight as far as the shopping goes and we are counting down the days until we go out to Roosevelt. I still haven't found the time to do Christmas cards, so if you don't get one, don't be offended - neither did anyone else. *wink* Oh, before I forget, and this is way off topic, my email addresses got wiped out so if you could all be so kind as to send me a quick email so I can add you back into my address book that would be fab!

A Little Bit of Heartache

Today hasn't been the happiest of days for me. Today I received some very sad news about a woman I know and I just feel like sharing my feelings. Let me back up a few years..... As many of you know I volunteer in the NICU as parent support once a week. When I was pregnant with Kamryn I met a few very special parents that I try to keep in touch with or at least keep tabs on. One of the mother's names is April. April had a beautiful little boy named Caleb that spent quite some time in the NICU. I remember always being amazed with April's attitude. She had the best outlook on life and the situations that her family was going through. She really made an impression on me. Well, Caleb finally got to go home, and sadly I've not seen or spoken to April since, but I have been able to get updates on what has been going on in her life over the past couple years. In April of 2007 sweet little Caleb went to go live with his Heavenly Father and I cried for April and her family and just didn't know how they could endure it! I've read her blog here and there and am constantly amazed at the gracious, positive outlook she has. A little over a week ago I read a post on her blog that she has been having some health issues, and I thought to myself, "That poor girl, hopefully its nothing major." Well, today I received another update and I can't seem to stop crying. Long story short, April has "Cardiomyopathy and Congestive Heart Failure". She was life flighted to the University of Utah Hospital and they ran more tests. I don't know what can be done to fix her condition. Her body is deteriorating/attacking her organs so she is going to be given medication to make her comfortable and send her home. With all of the trials this sweet family has faced in the past few years I can't believe that this is happening now! Ever since I heard this news suddenly so many things I was stressed out about yesterday don't seem to matter. I was worrying about neighbor gifts, Christmas cards and trying to make everything perfect, when in reality everything is wonderful! I have a husband that adores my children & I, I have two sweet little girls that brighten my life each and every day, I have an amazing family and wonderful friends that are always there for me, I have more for Christmas than some people could even dream of having. I am blessed. Thank you April for helping me to realize that. To anyone that may take the time to read this, keep April and her family in your prayers.
**Update** April is home now with her family and I am so happy they are all together!

Christmas Crazies!

So - No pictures on this post, just a quick little note to let everyone know we are among the land of the living. Kalani turned 32 (old, old man!) on November 2nd, so of course we HAD to go to Cabela's and out to dinner! Kamryn had her birthday on November 11th and turned 3. She thinks she is so big! We had a little party for her at Chuck E Cheese. She is quite confused by all of the Christmas wrapping we've been doing. She keeps asking me, "It almost my birthday again?" Thank goodness she hasn't tried to unwrap anything yet. She's just happy to stare at the gifts under the tree and tell me how "budiful" they are. We've been running around like crazy people! Add Thanksgiving into the mix and holy cow... are we ever home. Nila went with her class yesterday to the mall to see Santa and apparantly THAT was not something she deemed necessary! Her teacher told me she took one look at the fat man in red and burst into tears. Then they rode the Christmas train and Nila sat on her teachers lap with the biggest frown (see previous post where I showed up at school for Nila's birthday for picture of said frown) and crocodile tears pouring down her cheeks. Poor little kiddo! Although, I did ask Kamryn if SHE wanted to go see Santa and she promptly replied, "No way!" There has also been another thing that has been keeping life a little out of whack, but more on that at a later date. Off to wrap more gifts while my little monsters are sleeping!
